Reminders of Rome....

Rome is literally across the other side of the country from Le Marche, but luckily, it's not a bad trip using a combination of car and train. There was an exhibition I want to see, (Gustav Klimt) but the big draw was the fact that it's the height of artichoke season here and nowhere quite does the artichoke as much justice as the Jewish Quarter in Rome. So, having whiled away a very enjoyable few hours in the art gallery, we strolled through the warm Spring sunshine to rendezvous with my lovely friend Luca at a restaurant he recommended, La taverna del Ghetto in Rome's Jewish Quarter. http://www.latavernadelghetto.com/ It's most definitely worth a visit if you are spending any time in Rome.

As well as some amazing lamb for a main course, we were treated to the deep fried artichokes.......

I also managed to get hold of some rhubarb, which isn't always easy to find here. What have you been cooking lately?
